EXPLORATIONS IN GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE / 2022 - 2023
The following work explores the use of neural network AI as a form of generative imaginal photography. Through the incantation of writing prompts, sentences describing the intended image in minute detail, images are generated through a cascade of recursive passes through the AI neural network until a final image is formed. A series of experimental techniques for arriving at the final image, including exploring a labyrinth of variants that riff on the initial images, as well as the ‘breeding’ of images to create hybrid images and lineages of visual progeny, alongside out and in painting that fine tuning of particular of the image. The work is a photographic documentation of imagined parallel realities ‘photographed’ through the conduit of the ‘mind’ of the artificial intelligence.
